LIQUIS RING GAS PUMP IN TECHNICAL CERAMIC FRIKORUND TYPT FGP
The pump is working according to the liquid ring principle. The impeller is in eccentric position in the pump casing.
Due to the revolutions of the impeller the service liquid forms a rotating liquid ring in the casing. As a result of the eccentricity the liquid ring gets off from the impeller hub on the suction side, and through the suction slot the gas handled enters into the free space thus created.
On the discharge side the liquid ring approaches the impeller hub again and ejects the compressed gas through the discharge slot. (For functional diagram see below)
The liquid ring gas pump type FGP is a single stage valveless pump with free floating impeller and amply dimensioned shaft and bearings. Bearings are oillubricated antifriction bearings. For setting up the impeller gap the shaft is adjustable at the rear axial bearing.
The shaft seal is done with stuffed gland or with double mechanical seal. Part in contact with liquids or gases such as casing, cover with control slots and intermediate ring are made of ceramic FRIKORUND® with cast iron armour.
Impellers may be of ceramics, glassfilled PTFE or metals such as Titanium, Hastelloy and Zirconium.
