It is designed to help eliminate sick building syndrome risks by reducing the odors, air pollutants and cold and virus causing germs through a patent pending Photohydroionization (PHI) process. The PHI Cells are easily mounted into air conditioning and heating systems. When the air conditioning system is running, the ISP uses a wireless advanced oxidation processes to reduce airborne pollutants.
Why use PhotoHydroIonization? Germicidal ultraviolet light rays have been used for decades by the medical industry as a method for destruction of microorganisms (bacteria, virus, bacteria). Ultraviolet light is reliable and can be easily installed in HVAC ducts or a full. The germicidal ultraviolet light is effective in reducing microorganisms suspended in the air passing through the rays of light. However, germicidal UV light has little or no effect on gases, vapors or odors.
Advanced Oxidation, on the other hand, is very effective in the gases, fumes and odors and ultraviolet light in the presence of the ISP creates a catalyst for advanced oxidation reaction. This process, combined with the catalytic target surface of the cell produces not only an atmosphere in which the germicidal light can kill microorganisms. It also produces super oxide ions and hydro-peroxides. These products of advanced oxidation reactions further attack the microorganisms as well as significantly reduce odors and VOC's. With the mobile ISP, most gases and odors are reduced while the microorganisms can be reduced by up to 90%.
